A laboratory technician in Ballari was defrauded of Rs 9.50 lakh after responding to a Facebook advertisement offering a supermarket franchise. A case has been registered at the city’s cyber crime police station based on a complaint filed by a resident of Kudatini.
An FIR has been lodged against Kumar C, Kiran Kumar M, and Mamatha Mahadev Shetty. The complaint states that between June 5 and July 16, the accused gradually collected money under the name of the company ‘V.C. Town The Smart Way To Shop’ but failed to provide the promised franchise.
