District Police Chief Dr. Suman D. Pennecker issued a stern warning in Ballari, stating that strict legal measures will be taken against anyone involved in illegal activities, rowdyism, or actions that disturb public peace. The directive was issued during a review of the roidiesheeters parade held at the D.A.R. Police Ground on Thursday.
The DCP inspected the parade of individuals listed under the jurisdiction of Brucepete, APMC, Kaulbazar, and Gandhinagar police stations. He instructed them to stay away from criminal activities and lead peaceful lives. Addressing their conduct and appearance, he questioned the intent behind growing beards and keeping long hair, noting that such grooming choices are often used to instill fear in the public. He advised the individuals to reform their behavior and integrate into the mainstream of society.
Dr. Pennecker emphasized that the police will not tolerate harassment, threats, quarrels, or any illegal activities. He warned that anyone who violates police instructions and re-engages in criminal acts will face uncompromising legal action. The police department is maintaining strict vigilance over the movements of roidiesheeters to curb crime and ensure a safe environment for citizens in the city.
In a separate announcement, the DCP stated that wearing helmets for two-wheeler riders will be strictly enforced starting November 2 to prevent road accidents and casualties. Although helmet usage was previously mandated from June 1, compliance had declined after an initial positive response. Recent accident investigations revealed that many riders died or suffered permanent disabilities due to severe head injuries caused by the absence of helmets. The police will also take strict action against minors driving vehicles and have requested public cooperation in enforcing these safety measures.
